@joelito101 the only catch about this project was that everything had to have been previously used.
Also, the aluminum actually bounces not only light, but the heat from the sun as well, I burnt my hand on that piece of crap. By chance, the focal point of the light and heat was right at the end? of the broken handle, all I had to do was make a makeshift platform to heat up the thermometer.

I think that the best reflectors can be made of material that can be chromed to a close to perfect mirror surface.
The aluminum foil is bouncing the? light all over the place. the light needs to be focused to a small spot. But I like the effort put into this, you have the right idea.

I saw one of these made with a? wire plant stand for a pot holder. I think it is nifty!!
